A Legacy of Faith: An Elder’s Life: In Memory of the Pastoral Impact of George M. Carrera, Sr.

How would you describe a spiritual leader or congregational elder? A spiritual leader or congregational elder guides others in their faith, teaching and supporting them in their spiritual journey. George M. Carrera, Sr., was an excellent example of this. His life showed what it means to serve God and care for the people in his community. Like the Apostle Peter, who was told to feed the flock, George lived out this instruction through his actions and dedication.

This book is divided into three sections to honor George and give glory to God.

1. The Exceptional Ministry of George:

   • The first section shares stories and insights about George’s remarkable work in the ministry. From my perspective, it highlights how he lived out his faith and served others.

2. An Alphabet for Elders:

   • The second section is a unique guide for elders. Each letter of the alphabet describes a characteristic of a good elder, with a biblical reference for each trait. This part serves as a helpful tool for understanding the qualities of a spiritual leader.

3. Small Group Discussions:

   • The final section is designed for small groups. It includes discussion questions and topics based on the characteristics mentioned in the second section. This part encourages group conversations and reflections on what it means to be an elder.

This book celebrates the life of George M. Carrera, Sr., recognizing his dedication and service. It aims to inspire others to follow his example and to deepen their spiritual leadership.
