Gary R. Uremovich, DMin, PhD, is an author, educator, retired United States Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, and retired Physician Assistant with more than four decades of experience in medicine, ministry, teaching, pastoral care, and spiritual formation. His writing reflects a lifelong interest in Scripture, human resilience, grief, aging, family relationships, and the ways faith shapes ordinary life.
Gary has served as a university professor, clinician, health educator, counselor, small-group leader, and ministry teacher. He holds graduate and doctoral degrees in educational counseling, pastoral care, spiritual development, and small-group ministry. His background allows him to write with both intellectual depth and practical compassion, bringing together biblical reflection, historical imagination, humor, and the realities of human struggle.
Along with his wife and coauthor, Viveca R. Yoshikawa, Gary is the cofounder of Growth Publishing LLC. Together, they have written and developed books, Bible studies, historical fiction, science fiction, small-group resources, and works on spiritual growth, grief, caregiving, and Christian formation. Gary’s goal as a writer is to help readers think deeply, laugh honestly, grieve faithfully, and discover grace in the middle of complicated lives.
Viveca R. Yoshikawa is an author, editor, researcher, and cofounder of Growth Publishing. Born in Sweden and shaped by an international life of learning, language, literature, and faith, Viveca brings a rich cultural and intellectual perspective to her writing and editorial work.
Her professional background includes service with the Scandinavian Section of the Library of Congress and many years in academic library leadership, with a focus on library technology and information systems. Fluent in multiple languages and deeply committed to the written word, Viveca has a gift for research, historical detail, and helping stories find clarity, structure, and emotional depth.
As a member of the National League of American Pen Women, Viveca continues to contribute to the literary arts through writing, editing, and collaboration. Alongside her husband and coauthor, Gary, she has helped develop their books across an amazing diversity of genres. They invite readers to engage Scripture, history, faith, and human experience with curiosity and grace.
